Never mind...don't answer that.

Bumpy Road

Ryan and I spent the day playing. He helped me remove the hardware from a few of the cabinet doors. He loves to help. Especially when it involves him being allowed to play with the screwdriver. After that...we made a road!

Extra Precautions

If you're thinking about the H1N1 flu, join the crowd. No...we're not wearing masks to avoid the flu however it might not be a bad idea. We are avoiding public as much as possible, and if you're sick don't get all upset if we avoid you...because we will. I have mixed feelings about the H1N1 vaccine. How about you? What are your feelings? Part of me wants to get the protection for my family however a bigger part of me makes me very leery of the thing. I may be wrong about this, but it seems to me that everything was so rushed that it concerns me as to how many corners were cut in the development and production of it. Not to mention the lack of testing. And...I heard a report on Fox News some time ago discussing the fact that the new vaccine has many times more mercury in it than any other vaccine. Although there is no medical, direct correlation between the mercury in vaccines and autism I cannot discount all the moms with autistic kids who swear there is. Anyway...it all boils down to the fact that (despite those who are aghast at my decision) we won't be getting the H1N1 vaccine. We'll just stay away from you...if that's okay? We will be getting our regular flu shots ASAP.

So the mask is my mask that I used today while I undercut the rock on the fireplace. To learn more about that you must go here.

Eating Out Fun

We went out to eat Friday night. We had a good time. Stables is a great little restaurant in Guthrie, OK. It's one of our favorites.

I left the pictures dark because that's part of the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Lessons Learned

Lessons learned while painting with a toddler

#1--paint trays hold an awful lot of paint that can and will make a big mess when dropped.

#2--when told not to touch the paint it will be interpreted as "Please go stand in the paint"

Of all days, today is the day I forgot to bring my camera out to the new house while we worked, so the pictures are left to your imagination.

A Happy Birthday and a Czech Festival (Part 2)

Like I mentioned previously we spent last Saturday celebrating Grampie's birthday and enjoying the festivities of the Czech Festival in Yukon.

We played and played...
ALL of the kids...
(Cousins--Ryan, Madison, Myndi and Marley)

We sure did enjoy outdoor activities, but finally it was time to go inside. Ryan took that very literally...
I promise this was his doing. I DID NOT lock my son in a dog cage.

Our inside activities involved eating...
(funnel cake)
(beans, salads, etc.)
(burgers, hot dogs, etc.)
(CAKES!)
Grampie opened his presents. He got a zoo pass and some peanuts and other stuff.

After all the tummies were stuffed and the eyelids had been checked the guys took a "leave-of-absence" to watch the ball game.
It was such a great day. We can't wait for next year!

A Happy Birthday and A Czech Festival (Part 1)

This past weekend we celebrated Grampie's birthday. It has become tradition to spend the first weekend in October with Grampie and Mimi and the family, celebrating his birthday while also enjoying the festivities of the Czech Festival.

Saturday morning we went to the Czech Festival parade. Ryan really enjoyed it...especially the free candy and the Shriner men driving around in goofy cars.
He was, however, not very interested in posing for a picture afterwards.

After the parade was over we went to Grampie and Mimi's house for an afternoon of fun. We spent lots and lots of time outside. The weather was perfect...at times a little chilly...at times a little warm. Just right!
Myndi met her new cousin, Marley. They are both Mini Aussie's. They had a blast playing together.
Ummm...pickie fwowers!

There was a lot of sitting around visiting, sharing stories and good times!

Ryan and I found a big ball to play with. It was a lot of fun...for the both of us!
But the fun didn't stop there. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this unfolding drama (or at least the story of last weekend).
