Maybe It's Time

First...I'd like to ask for prayer for Nate, Tricia, and Gwyneth. Tricia is not feeling well and is having trouble breathing. Remember that she is only a few months out of a double lung transplant. She is also battling cancer. Please pray for healing of her lungs and body, that she will be able to breathe without effort, that her body would be completely healed of cancer. They are visiting several doctors over the next couple of days. They sure could use some good news.

This family is heavy on my heart tonight.

These pictures are pretty self-explanatory. Based on this new interest,
maybe it's time!

I recently heard about using Baby Signs as a method of early potty training, even as early as 12 months. Wow! Wouldn't that be cool? Yeah...I may have to check that out sometime....

It's Coming....

It's a GARAGE SALE!!!! On October 24th and 25th Janelle and I will be having a garage sale in Edmond. All proceeds will be donated to the March of Dimes. We both feel very strongly about the work of March of Dimes and we will be raising money together over the next year in honor of our preemies, Macy, Connor and Ryan. We will also have a family team to Walk in next spring's March for Babies. We hope you will join us in all our fundraising efforts as well as the Walk.

If you have any *stuff* that you would like to donate to our garage sale please dig it out and bring it by my house. We'll gladly sell your treasures.

It's October!!

To celebrate the start of October, this is what we did...

I love October. It marks the beginning of the time of year I love. I love the weather, the autumn colors, the leaves, the cool brisk mornings, the beauty, the anticipation of the holidays, and of course the holidays themselves. I get excited about long walks in the woods, the smell of leaves on the forest floor, wearing light jackets and maybe even a hat, snuggling in covers, opening the windows, playing outside. October through December...I can't think of a better time of year!

Hello? Is Anyone There?

During business hours I often unplug one of our cordless phones and give it to Ryan, so that my conversation with the client can be void of screaming. He rarely screams while I'm on the phone, but there are always those occasions.
He loves to play with the phone. Yesterday he finally started using the phone as it was intended (instead of a new chew toy). He walked around the house carrying on his own conversations with his "friend" on the other line while I was talking on the other phone. It was super cute.
I tried to get a video, but his interest in the video camera took precedence over the phone.

Mmmm...Chocolate Cake

I realize it's not chocolate cake, but I put a whisk that was being used to make some chocolate cake on this lid. He stole it off the counter. He licked it clean!

Head On Collision

The other evening, after the re-bath (see last post), the night didn't end there. After taking his second bath and being clothed Ryan got on his little Pooh Car. He promptly tipped over frontwards. Over he went...resulting in a head on collision with the leg of his Daddy's computer chair. Here are the results...

The pictures don't show just how awful it really is.

A Good Laugh

I have a very quick story to tell just to give you a good laugh today. For those of you seasoned in toddlerhood you'll be laughing before I finish this story.

Ryan has had a very busy day with only a very small nap. After dinner tonight I decided to give him an early bath with the intentions that he could play in the tub for as long as he wanted after which I planned to give him some "naked-baby" run time. Ryan played for a long time. After the bath I took him to the living room, dried him off, and let him go. He ran straight to his room. What was the first thing he did when he got to his room? He peed! I grabbed the towel, wiped the mess, and continued to gather his pajamas, diaper and other necessary items before he would go to bed. After the pee I thought to myself, "Well, he won't need to do that again for a while. I might as well let him play. There shouldn't be anymore messes." Boy was I wrong.... Guess what?.... His colon was full too! Ryan got two baths tonight.
